i'm hoping for scorching weather for sunday and monday. especially since there's someone willing to drive me to the beach...tee-hee.

i got this romper in preparation for such weather.

all i know is, once i do, i'm going to be eating a whole lotta cheese. hmm. i need crackers.

who knew? dry shampoo in aerosol format.

one of my friends asked me about dry shampoos ages ago...so, here we are.

everyone knows it's ideal not to wash your hair everyday because it dries it out. i like to flat iron my hair often, and it's nice to not have to do it everyday. i would think the same is true for those who blow out their hair and want it to last more than a day or so.

enter the dry shampoo... i read just about every single review for just about every single dry shampoo there was out on the market. in particular, i was concerned about a product that would work with dark hair...as most dry shampoos contain some sort of whitish substance (ie. talc-like or starch-like product) to adsorb oils. there are even products containing 'color' or 'tints', but those kind of got bad reviews, as the color would stain things (ie. your pillowcase).

ultimately, i decided to try klorane.

smallish aerosol bottle.

spray on.

wait 2 minutes. brush out.

what are you brushing out? that whitish adsorbing product.

the good? it actually works. your hair does feel and look less oily. the scent of the product is quite nice.

the not-so-good? it added a mild amount of volume to my hair. which i personally did not like. although, many would probably find this agreeable.

the sort-of-bad? there is an extremely minimal amount of residue from the starch left in your hair, and though, not visible, you can definitely feel it.

i wished the anchovy pizza had more than 4 pieces of anchovy on it!

mackage sample sale: soia and kyo find

dropped by the mackage (+ soia & kyo, + candela) sample sale.

more wools and leathers than anything. a handful of trenches. for those who fit a mackage xxs size...not a lot of those. really, i didn't see any xxs sizing in any of the mackage jackets i looked at. and it was only serendipity that i found this cute soia & kyo trench in xxs.

well-fitted. and well-priced. $112.

'k, since i was in soho, i decided to check out the costello tagliapietra collection for uniqlo. it's really all about the dresses. i was limited to 8 items to the dressing room... hence, i give you 8 looks.

the seam in the center of the chest made me feel like i had this dress on backwards. which i did not.

in soho. happening right about now.

there's a lot of stock and there seemed to be a few samples as well. current season swimwear is $75, but a few buckets of miscellaneous swimwear were selling for as low as $10-15. there's a large fitting room with several mirrors in the basement, and the majority of stock seemed to end up down there. staffers were fairly diligent with gathering merchandise and putting it back out upstairs tho.

the place was moderately busy. and...designer mara hoffman was even present...

i attended one of the events of the manhattan cocktail classic this past weekend: campari's 150th at the bowery hotel.

endless cocktails.

burlesque dancers. some singing. and apparently, (an unrecognizable) james franco.

the spring desserts were disappointing :(...i only liked the earl grey tea soft serve. totally missing the warm sweet potato cake from the winter menu.

day 6: sandwich day

i haven't had time to get any groceries...so, i had to go out for lunch today. seeing that i was in midtown, the soft shell crab sandwich at certe was definitely calling my name.
